By public transport
By air:
After landing at Brussels International Airport at Zaventem, take the train to Brussel-Noord
(Bruxelles-Nord) from where you can take a train to Leuven (NOT
Louvain-la-Neuve).
If you arrive at "Brussels South Charleroi Airport"
(Charleroi), you have to take a bus to the train station in Charleroi,
from where you can take a train to Brussels. Take a look at the transport
schedule to and from "Brussels South Charleroi Airport" HERE!
By train and/or Bus:
Take a train with destination Leuven. DO NOT
take a train with destination Louvain-la-Neuve! This is a completely
different station!
From Brussel-Noord (Bruxelles-Nord), there are at least 5 trains to Leuven
each hour. Most IC-trains with final destination Maastricht, Eupen,
Welkenraedt, Hasselt, Landen or Genk have stops in Leuven (Timetables
N.M.B.S. or Hafas).
A trainride from Brussels to Leuven takes about 30 minutes.
From the train station in Leuven, it is an easy walk to the faculty building, which takes about 20 minutes. However you can also
take a taxi or bus. In front of the Leuven railway-station you go to the
red building on your right side. This is the bus-station from "De
Lijn". Take bus no.
2 direction Boskant or Campus until you get to the busstop
St.-Michielskerk. You are now in the Naamsestraat at about 150 meters of
the entrance of the Hogenheuvelcollege. Cross the street and walk uphill
to reach the entrance of the college.
If you choose to walk, in front of
the railway-station you go straight into the Bondgenotenlaan
untill you reach the city-hall, which is almost impossible to miss. Directly after the city-hall you turn left
into the Naamsestraat. Then on top of the little hill, the
Hogenheuvelcollege is situated on your left side.
By car
Take the highway E40 Brussels-Liège.
Leave the E40 at the exit to highway E314 with directions
Leuven/Genk/Hasselt.
Keep to the right, exit highway E314 (direction Genk/Hasselt/Aken) and
follow the signs Leuven.
Turn right at the third set of traffic lights (in front of a road bridge
-> direction Tienen).
You are now at the Leuven ringroad. Follow this boulevard to the next
traffic lights.
Turn left (direction Centrum). You are now in the Naamsestraat.
The faculty building is at number 69 at your right side.
